Flu Wrap Up
Tuesday, April 18, 2006
Ever come down with a really bad case of stomach flu, or possibly eat some bad pork from Brother Jimmy's (seriously, I should've known better), then fly to Mexico, dehydrated, and stick your head under a faucet while alternating shots of prune juice and ipecac? That's pretty much what I felt like last week. And as a result...well, that and sheer laziness, the TMQB fell by the wayside. The TMQB will return, albeit Thursday in an abbreviated version as I continue to work on next week's NFL Draft Preview. I'm pulling out all the stops; no team, player, bad TV show or owner is safe. Until then, here are a few more random observations and some things to look forward to next week.
Random Observations:
If you were at a party and a waitress came up to you with something resembling a sawdust and raw fish sandwich, offered it to you and then told you the catering was done by Brother Jimmy's, would you eat it? Yeah, I deserved what I got!
Considering the way the Titans have treated Eddie George and Steve McNair, it's a wonder any free agents continue to sign with them.
With the Patriots signing of Martin "Automatica" Gramatica, I'm fairly confident I could walk on as a Free Safety.
If the Yankees offense and pitching continue to show up on alternating games, it's going to be a very long season.
Next Week:
Steve McNair will most likely be a Raven and trying to whip himself into MVP kind of shape. Look for Baltimore to give Santonio "Third Best City in Texas" Holmes or Sinorice Moss a good look on draft day.
The NBA Playoffs start...and will last until mid-August.
Somehow more interesting, but less watched the NHL playoffs also start. Smart money should be on New Jersey and Carolina in the east and how else but Detroit in the West. Although, Jersey is at a serious disadvantage not having Scotty Stevens around to injure peopleā¦
